The Project
Mushrooms have been used for thousands of years as a medicine around the world. As folk medicine in many different cultures. Even as far back as Egyptian hieroglyphics, you are able to see mushrooms being depicted. Their meaning was the plant of immortality - “son of gods” - which was only eaten by powerful people like pharaohs. But mushrooms were not only used there. They are being found in the history of the north as well. A long, long time ago, Vikings ate mushrooms before a battle. They consumed hallucinogenic mushrooms to get into a ferocious fighting state. A state that they now, sometime later, are famous for.
We wanted to incorporate the old history of mushrooms into the energy drink. Take the old medical aspects of mushrooms and combine them with tea. Something that is on trend now and used as a medical compliment - in kombucha for example. So we took inspiration from both old and new folk medicine to create the look and feel of the product.
For the visuals of the brand, we combined the hip and primitive aspects of the two different products - tea and mushroom - into the feeling of the energy drink. This visual of the drink is in the style of an old packaging of medicine. But still with a modern touch in the colors and layout of the energy drink. The combination of visuals complements each other.
